Kharay Masalay ki Murgi (Whole spice chicken)

  •  Chicken (karhai cut) 750 gms
  •  Oil 2 tbsp
  •  Ginger 1 tbsp
  •  Garlic 1 tbsp
  •  Onion 01 medium size (sliced)
  •  Cumin seeds 1tsp
  •  Coriander seeds 1 & 1/2 tsp. (slightly crushed)
  •  Cloves 08 cloves
  •  Cinnamon sticks 02 pieces
  •  Black pepper corns 1 tsp
  •  Green cardamom 10-12 pieces (tap slightly)
  •  Black cardamom 03 pieces (tap slightly)
  •  Whole red chills 04 pieces (tap slightly)
  •  Salt 1 tbsp or to taste
  •  Yogurt 1 cup
  •  Fresh coriander for garnishing


Heat oil in a pot, add onion and fry until soft and translucent

Add ginger and garlic paste and fry for 2-3 minutes

Now add all the spices from 6-13 one by one and fry little more

Add chicken and fry it on a medium flame until white color appears

Add yogurt and mix it

Add salt and give it a good mix

Cover and cook until meat is tender on low flame for half an hour

Remove the cover and cook for another 15 minutes

Garnish with green coriander
