Ingredients:

  • Pani (Water) as required
  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) 3 medium
  • Pyaz (Onion) 1 medium
  • Lehsan (Garlic) 2-3 cloves
  • Fresh parsley 1 tbs
  • Olive oil 1 tbs or as required
  • Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 1 tsp
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) roasted & crushed 1 tsp
  • Brown rice 1 & ½ Cups (washed)
  • Jalapenos chopped 1 tbs
  • Tomato paste 1 tbs
  • Matar (Peas) ¼ Cup
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Paprika powder 1 tsp
  • Yakhni (Stock) 2-3 Cups or as required
  • Lemon juice ½ tbs

Directions:

Cut tomatoes slightly with the help if the knife.

In sauce pan,add water and bring it to boil,add tomatoes and blanch for 1-2 minutes then remove skin and let it cool.

In grinder,add tomatoes,onion,garlic and fresh parsley,grind well & set aside.

In pot,add olive oil,garlic,cumin seeds,brown rice and mix well for 3-4 minutes.

Add jalapenos,tomato paste and mix well.

Add peas,prepared tomato sauce,salt,paprika powder and mix well.

Add stock,mix well and bring it to boil.

Add lemon juice and mix well.

Cover partially and cook on medium low flame for 15 minutes then mix well.

Cover and steam cook for 10-12 minutes & serve.
