Turkish Gozleme

Another recipe inspired by our trip to Turkey. This is our take on the traditional Turkish Gozleme. #HappyCookingToYou #FoodFusion

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil 2 tbs
  • Pyaz (Onion) chopped 1 medium
  • Palak (Spinach) chopped 250g
  • Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) 1 tsp
  • Feta cheese 100g
  • Dahi (Yogurt) ½ Cup
  • Olive oil 2 tbs
  • Spinach & feta filling 2-3 tbs or as required
  • Mozzarella cheese grated as required
  • Olive oil 1-2 tsp

Dough:

  • Safed atta (Fine white flour) sifted 2 Cups
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil 2 tbs
  • Water 1 Cup or as required
  • Cooking oil ½ tsp

Directions:

In a wok,add olive oil,onion & sauté until translucent.

Add spinach,mix well & cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add black pepper powder and mix well.

Take out in a bowl and let it cool.

Add feta cheese,mix well & set aside.

In a small bowl,add yogurt,olive oil,whisk well & set aside.

In a bowl,add fine white flour,salt & mix well.

Add cooking oil & mix well until crumbled.

Gradually add water and knead until medium soft dough is formed.

Grease with cooking oil,cover & let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Dust dry flour and knead dough again then divide into three parts.

Take one part & make a ball,dust dry flour & roll out with the help of rolling pin as thin as possible.

Add and spread 2 tbs of prepared yogurt & olive oil mixture over the rolled dough and flip two parallel sides of dough towards the center.

Add & spread prepared spinach & feta filling,flip the other two parallel sides of dough towards the center and press gently (makes 2).

Heat griddle,place stuffed gozleme & cook from both sides for a minute.

Brush olive oil and fry from both side until golden brown.

Cut into piece & serve!
