Kayri Qeema

Ingredients:

  • Kayri (Raw mango) peeled 3 medium
  • Cooking oil 4-5 tbs
  • Pyaz (Onion) sliced 5 medium
  • Qeema (Mince) beef ½ kg
  • Darchini (Cinnamon sticks) 2
  • Sabut kali mirch (Black peppercorns) 10-12
  • Badiyan ka phool (Star anise) 1
  • Laung (Cloves) 3-4
  • Badi elaichi (Black cardamom) 1
  • Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 3-4
  • Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 & ½ tbs
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) 1 tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Dhania (Coriander seeds) crushed 1 & ½ tsp
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) chopped 2 medium
  • Water ½ Cup
  • Podina (Mint leaves) chopped
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
  • Hari mirch (Green chillies) sliced 2-3
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
  • Hari mirch (Green chilli) sliced

Directions:

Grate raw mango in a bowl with the help of grater (approx. 1 & ½ Cup) & set aside.

In a pot,add cooking oil,onion and fry until light golden.

Add beef mince and mix well until it changes color.

Add cinnamon sticks,black peppercorns,star anise,cloves,black cardamom,button red chillies,mix well & cook on high flame for 4-5 minutes.

Add ginger garlic paste,cumin powder,red chilli powder,coriander seeds,salt,turmeric powder, tomatoes,mix well and cook on medium flame for 4-5 minutes.

Add grated raw mango & mix well.

Add water & mix well,cover & cook on low flame for 6-8 minutes then cook on high flame for until oil separates (4-5 minutes).

Add mint leaves,fresh coriander,green chillies,cover & simmer for 4-5 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander,green chilli & serve!
