1: Chilla with Leftover Daal

Ingredients:

-Leftover cooked daal 1 Cup

-Maida (All-purpose flour) sifted ½ Cup

-Chawal ka atta (Rice flour) 2 tbs

-Hari mirch (Green chillies) 2

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed ½ tsp

-Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste

-Water 3-4 tbs

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) 1-2 tbs

-Cooking oil

 

Directions:

-In a blender jug,add all cooked lentil,all-purpose flour,rice flour,green chillies,red chilli crushed,salt, water & blend well.

-Add fresh coriander & blend well.

-Grease griddle with cooking oil,add ½ cup of batter & spread evenly.

-Grease with cooking oil & cook from both sides until done (makes 4-5).

-Serve with pickle.

 

2: Pakoray with Leftover Daal

Ingredients:

-Leftover cooked daal 1 Cup

-Baisan (Gram flour) sifted 1 Cup

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed 1 tsp

-Chawal ka atta (Rice flour) 2 tbs

-Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) crushed 1 tsp

-Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste

-Zarda ka rang (Orange food color) 1 pinch

-Baking soda ¼ tsp

-Water ¼ Cup or as required

-Palak (Spinach) chopped 1 Cup

-Pyaz (Onion) sliced 1 medium

-Hari mirch (Green chillies) sliced 2-3

-Cooking oil for frying

-Chaat masala

 

Directions:

-In a bowl,add cooked lentil,gram flour,red chilli crushed,rice flour,coriander seeds,salt,orange food color,baking soda,water & whisk well for 2-3 minutes,cover & let it rest for 10 minutes.

-Add spinach,onion,green chillies & mix well.

-In a wok,heat cooking oil & fry on medium flame until golden & crispy.

-Sprinkle chaat masala & serve with chutney.

 

3: Paratha with Leftover Daal

Ingredients:

-Leftover cooked daal 1 Cup (dried)

-Hari mirch (Green chilli) chopped 1 tbs

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 1 tbs

-Podina (Mint leaves) chopped 1 tbs

-Prepared dough

-Cooking oil for frying

 

Directions:

-In a bowl,add cooked lentil,green chilli,fresh coriander,mint leaves & mix well.

-Take a dough ball (70g),sprinkle dry flour & roll out with the help of rolling pin.

-Add & spread lentil mixture (2 tbs),apply water on the edges of dough & place another rolled dough over it & seal the edges.

-Heat griddle,add cooking oil & fry paratha from both sides until golden brown (makes 4-5).

-Serve with yogurt raita.

 

4: Daal Tikki with Leftover Daal

Ingredients:

-Aloo (Potatoes) boiled 3 medium

-Leftover cooked daal 1 Cup (dried)

-Pyaz (Onion) chopped 1 medium

-Corn kernels boiled & chopped ½ Cup

-Chawal ka atta (Rice flour) 2 tbs

-Zeera (Cumin seeds) roasted & crushed 1 tsp

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed ½ tsp

-Chicken powder 1 tsp

-Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste

-Hari mirch (Green chillies) chopped 2-3

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 2 tbs

-Podina (Mint leaves) chopped 1 tbs

-Anday (Eggs) whisked 1-2

-Cooking oil for frying

 

Directions:

-In a bowl,add potatoes & mash well with the help of masher.

-Add cooked lentil & mash well.

-Add onion,corn kernels,rice flour,cumin seeds,red chilli crushed,chicken powder,salt,green chillies, fresh coriander,mint leaves & mix well.

-Grease hands with oil,take small quantity of mixture (45g) & make tikkis of equal sizes.

-In frying pan,heat cooking oil,dip tikkis in whisked eggs & shallow fry on medium flame from both sides until golden brown (makes 14).

-Serve with chutney.

 

5: Daal Pancakes with Leftover Daal

Ingredients:

-Leftover cooked daal 1 Cup

-Anda (Egg) 1

-Maida (All-purpose flour) 6 tbs

-Dahi (Yogurt) 1 tbs

-Sooji (Semolina) 1 tbs

-Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste

-Baking soda ¼ tsp

-Water 3-4 tbs or as required

-Shimla mirch (Capsicum) thinly sliced ½ Cup

-Gajar (Carrot) grated ½ Cup

-Hara pyaz (Spring onion) chopped ¼ Cup

-Hari mirch (Green chillies) sliced 2-3

 

Directions:

-In a blender jug,add cooked lentil,egg,all-purpose flour,yogurt,semolina,salt,baking soda,water & blend well.

-Transfer to a bowl,add capsicum,carrot,spring onion,green chillies & mix well.

-On a greased frying pan,add ¼ cup of batter & cook on low flame for 2 minutes,flip & cook other side until done (makes 9-10).

-Serve with sour cream/yogurt.
