Ingredients:

  • Whole Chicken 1 kg
  • Water 1 litre or as required
  • Lemon juice ¼ Cup
  • Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed 4-5 tbs
  • Namak (Salt) 2 tsp or to taste
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri lal mirch powder (Kashmiri red chilli powder) 1 tsp
  • Cornflour 1-2 tbs
  • Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 & ½ tbs
  • Chilli sauce 2 tbs
  • Soy sauce 1 tbs
  • Lemon juice 2-3 tbs
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Water 1 & ½ Cup

Directions:

Cut whole chicken with the help of kitchen scissor,upside down chicken,flatten it and place deep cuts & set aside.

In a large bowl,add water,lemon juice & mix well.

Place whole chicken,dip properly & marinate for 30 minutes then strain.

In a bowl,add red chilli crushed,salt,garam masala powder,kashmiri red chilli powder,cornflour,ginger garlic paste,chilli sauce,soy sauce,lemon juice & mix well.

Add whole chicken & rub evenly all over the chicken,cover with cling film & marinate overnight in refrigerator.

In a wok,heat cooking oil and deep fry marinated chicken from both sides until golden brown & crispy (approx. 30 minutes) & take out fried chicken on a grill rack.

Strain leftover red chilli crushed & 1 tsp of oil from fried oil & reserve it for serving.

In a pot,add water,place steam rack,cover & bring it to boil.

Now place fried chicken,cover & steam cook on medium flame for 8-10 minutes.

On a serving platter,place patakha chicken,sprinkle fried red chilli crushed & serve with 7Up!
