Gajar Ki Barfi

  • Doodh (Milk) 1 litre
  • Gajar (Carrots) grated ½ kg
  • Cheeni (Sugar) 1 & ½ Cups or to taste
  • Elaichi seeds (Cardamom seeds) crushed 1 tsp
  • Khopra (Dissected coconut) ½ Cup
  • Badam & Pista (Almonds & Pistachio) chopped ½ Cup
  • Khoa ½ Cup
  • Ghee 2 tbs
  • Ghee 1 tbs
  • Khoa ½ Cup
  • Cheeni (Sugar) 1 tbs or to taste
  • Khopra (Desiccated coconut)
  • Nuts


In pot,add milk and bring it to boil.

Add carrots,mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Again bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes and keep stirring in between then cook on medium low flame until milk dries up and keep stirring in between.

Add sugar and mix well.

Add cardamom seeds,desiccated coconut,almonds & pistachios and mix well.

Add khao and mix well.

Add ghee,mix well and cook until it leave the sides of the pot.

In frying pan,add ghee and khoa,mix well.

Add sugar and mix well until sugar dissolves & let it cool.

Now take cooked carrot mixture on your palm and spread it,add cooked khoa and cover it to make a ball.

Sprinkle desiccated coconut & nuts.

On mould,add cooked carrots mixture & press it.

Now add cooked khoa and press it.

Add desiccated coconut and nuts & refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Cut into desired shapes & serve.
