Fish Karahi

Ingredients:

Prepare Magic Karahi Spice Mix:

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed 1 tbs

-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tbs or to taste

-Kashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder 2 tsp

-Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 1 tbs

-Zeera powder (Cumin powder) 1 tbs

-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tbs

-Himalayan pink salt ½ tbs or to taste

-Chicken powder 1 tbs

Prepare Fish Karahi:

-Tamatar (Tomatoes) 4-5 medium

-Hari mirchein (Green chillies) 2-3

-Cooking oil for frying

-Fish fillets 600g (preferably surmai)

-Cooking oil 6-8 tbs

-Adrak lehsan (Ginger garlic) crushed 1 tbs

-Dahi (Yogurt) whisked ½ Cup

-Cooking oil 2-3 tbs

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped

 

Directions:

Prepare Magic Karahi Spice Mix:

-In a jar,add red chilli crushed,red chilli powder,Kashmiri red chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder,turmeric powder,pink salt,chicken powder,cover & shake well.Magic karahi spice mix is ready!

Prepare Fish Karahi:

-Chop tomatoes & set aside.

-Slice green chillies & set aside.

-In a wok,heat cooking oil & fry fish on high flame for 30 seconds only & set aside.

-In wok,add cooking oil,ginger garlic & sauté for a minute.

-Add chopped tomatoes,green chillies,mix well & cook on high flame until tomatoes are soft (4-5 minutes).

-Add prepared magic karahi spice mix (3 tbs),mix well & cook on high flame for 1-2 minutes.

-Add yogurt,mix well & cook on high flame for a minute.

-If required,add cooking oil,mix well & cook until oil separates.

-Add fried fish,mix gently & cook for 4-5 minutes.

-Garnish with fresh coriander & serve!
