Ingredients:

  • Sabut masoor daal (Black lentil gram) 1 & ½ Cup (soaked 3-4 hours)
  • Himalayan Pink Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  • Water 5 Cups
  • Cooking oil ½ Cup
  • Badam (Almonds) soaked peeled & halved ¼ Cup
  • Pyaz (Onion) sliced 2 medium
  • Pyaz (Onion) chopped 1 medium
  • Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 2 cloves
  • Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 1 tsp
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) 1 tsp
  • Darchini powder (Cinnamon powder) ¼ tsp
  • Himalayan Pink salt ½ tbs or to taste
  • Chawal (Rice) 2 Cups (soaked for 30 minutes)
  • Pyaz (Onion) fried
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Directions:

In a pot add black lentil gram, pink salt, water, mix well & bring it to boil.

Remove the scum then, cover & cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes or until 90% tender, set aside.

In a pot add cooking oil, almonds & fry on medium flame until golden, take out & set aside.

In the same oil, add onion & fry until golden brown, take out & set aside.

In the same pot add chopped onion, chopped garlic & sauté for 2 minutes.

Ad coriander powder, cumin powder, cinnamon powder, pink salt & mix well.

Add boiled lentil along with its all water & stir.

Add soaked rice & mix well,cover & steam cook on low for 10-12 minutes.

Garnish with fried onion, fried almonds, chopped parsley & serve!
