-Chana daal (Split bengal gram) 1 Cup (soaked for 2 hours)

-Masoor daal (Red lentil) ¼ Cup (soaked for 2 hours)

-Mong daal (Yellow lentil) ¼ Cup (soaked for 2 hours)

-Water 4 Cups or as required

-Darchini (Cinnamon sticks) 2

-Badi elaichi (Black cardamom) 1

-Laung (Cloves) 2-3

-Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) 1 & ½ tsp

-Tez patta (Bay leaf) 1

-Javitri (Mace) 2 blades

-Jaifil (Nutmeg) ¼ piece

-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp

-Cooking oil 2 tbs

-Boneless chicken 250g

-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs

-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tsp or to taste

-Himalayan pink salt 1 tsp or to taste

-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ¼ tsp

-Kali mirch (Black pepper) crushed 1 & ½ tsp

-Water ½ Cup

-Water 1 Cup

-Chicken powder 2 tsp

-Adjust salt to taste

Prepare Tarka:

-Cooking oil 4-5 tbs

-Lehsan (Garlic) sliced 3 cloves

-Sukhi lal mirch (Dried red chillies) 2-3



-In a pot,add split bengal gram,red lentil,yellow lentil,water,mix well & bring it to boil.

-Remove the scum,cover & cook on low flame until lentils are tender (30 minutes).

-In a frying pan,add cinnamon sticks,black cardamom,cloves,coriander seeds,bay leaf,mace,nutmeg, cumin seeds & dry roast on medium flame until fragrant (2-3 minutes).

-Let it cool.

-In mortal & pestle,add roasted spices,crush well & set aside.

-In a frying pan,add cooking oil,chicken,ginger garlic paste & mix well until it changes color.

-Add red chilli powder,pink salt,turmeric powder,black pepper crushed,mix well & cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.

-Add water & mix well,cover & cook on low flame until chicken is tender (8-10 minutes).

-Turn off the flame & shred the chicken coarsely with the help of wooden fork.

-Add shredded chicken in cooking lentils & mix well.

-Turn off the flame & mash well with the help of wooden hand masher for 8-10 minutes.

-Turn on the flame,add water & mix well.

-Add crushed spices,chicken powder & mix well.

-Add salt & mix well,cover & cook on low flame for 6-8 minutes.

Prepare Tarka:

-In a small frying pan,add cooking oil & heat it.

-Add garlic & fry for 30 seconds.

-Add dried red chillies,mix well & pour prepared tarka in cooked daal & mix well.

-Serve with rice.
